Ceremony attracts Gus Dur, Megawati<\/p>\n
BLITAR, East Java: Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Muslim
\nIslamic, Abdurrahman Wahid, known as Gus Dur, and chairperson of
\nthe Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan),
\nMegawati Soekarnoputri, are scheduled to attend an annual
\nceremony in Blitar held in honor of the first president,
\nSoekarno, on June 20.<\/p>\n
Antara on Tuesday quoted a spokesman of the Soekarno family as
\nsaying that an invitation was sent to Abdurrahman, who is
\nMegawati's close associate. They are both presidential candidates
\nof their respective parties.<\/p>\n
The grounds of the grave site of Soekarno, Megawati's father,
\nwho died on June 21, 1970, are usually swarmed with crowds, who,
\namong others, join in the Koran reading, a regular feature of the
\ncommemoration.<\/p>",
