        "content": "<p>Palu (ANTARA) - The Central Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulteng)\nare intensifying patrols and monitoring in several areas affected by the\nmagnitude 6.7 earthquake to ensure the security and public order\nsituation remains safe and conducive.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Public Information Sub-section of the Central Sulawesi\nPolice Public Relations Division, Kompol Reky Moniung, said in Palu on\nTuesday that patrols were being carried out by personnel from the\nSamapta Directorate in a number of areas impacted by the quake, namely\nSigi Regency, Parigi Moutong Regency, and Palu City.<\/p>\n<p>During these activities, Samapta Directorate personnel targeted\nseveral locations experiencing increased public activity following the\nearthquake.<\/p>\n<p>At the petrol stations on Jalan Moh. Yamin and Jalan I Gusti Ngurah\nRai, Samapta Directorate officers conducted traffic management to ease\ncongestion caused by the build-up of vehicles queuing to refuel.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, officers also inspected a number of buildings affected\nby the earthquake, including the Paskop Cafe located on Jalan Tanjung\nManimbaya, Palu City.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Central Sulawesi Police, through the Samapta Directorate and\nregional units, continue to conduct patrols and monitoring at several\nlocations affected by the earthquake. There is some material damage\nwhich is still being assessed by the relevant agencies,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also urged the public not to panic and not to readily believe\ninformation that cannot be verified, especially that circulating via\nsocial media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe urge the public to remain calm, always be alert to the\npossibility of aftershocks, and follow the instructions from the\ngovernment and officers in the field. Do not be easily influenced by\nunverified information as it can cause panic,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed hope that the situation in Central Sulawesi remains safe\nand conducive and that there are no further casualties due to\naftershocks. According to him, the Central Sulawesi Police will continue\nto be present to provide service, protection, and a sense of security to\nthe community.<\/p>",
