        "content": "<p>Muhammad Hasrul Hasan and Evri Rizqi Monarshi have been elected as\nChair and Vice Chair of the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission\n(KPI) for the 2026-2029 period. The decision was reached by consensus\nduring the first plenary meeting of KPI members since the issuance of\nPresidential Decree No.\u00a083\/P of 2026 concerning the appointment of\nCentral KPI members for the 2026-2029 period, held at the KPI Central\nmeeting room in Jakarta on Wednesday (19\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>In the meeting led by Widhie Kurniawan and Analisa, the KPI Central\nstructure was also established, distributing assignments to each member\nbased on their respective fields.<\/p>\n<p>As the elected KPI Chair, Hasrul stated that the KPI will prioritise\nthe delivery of quality, healthy and competitive broadcasting. This will\nbe implemented through the use of broadcasting data as a basis for\npolicy, the protection of public interests through media literacy, and\nthe strengthening of national identity through the reinforcement of\nlocal broadcasting and national content.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegulatory fairness for fellow media industry players is essential\nto create a healthy media ecosystem, including broadcasting,\u201d he said,\nas reported in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, the first agenda to be undertaken by the Central KPI is\nto consolidate broadcasting stakeholders in order to accelerate the\npassage of a new broadcasting law.<\/p>\n<p>Hasrul previously served as Coordinator of the Broadcasting Policy\nand System Development Division of the Central KPI for the 2022-2026\nperiod. Born in Makassar, he first served at the South Sulawesi Regional\nKPI for two terms, with his last position being Chair of the Regional\nKPI.
