        "content": "<p>The Central Java Provincial Government has stated its support for the\nIndonesian National Police\u2019s (Polri) initiatives aimed at bolstering\nfood security in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Boyolali (ANTARA) - The Central Java Provincial Government announced\nthat rice production in the province had reached at least 4.16 million\ntons of dry milled grain (GKG) by early April 2026, or 39.48 percent of\nthe annual target.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Central Java Food Security Agency, Widi Hartanto,\nstated in Boyolali Regency on Saturday that the rice production target\nfor Central Java in 2026 was set at 10.5 million tons of GKG.<\/p>\n<p>This statement was made while accompanying the Vice Governor of\nCentral Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen, during a simultaneous corn harvest\nevent for the second quarter of 2026 in Dukuh Nglarangan, Teras Village,\nTeras District, Boyolali Regency.<\/p>\n<p>The event was held online concurrently with the groundbreaking\nceremony for 10 Polri food security warehouses and the launch of\noperations for 166 Polri Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG),\nled by President Prabowo Subianto from Tuban Regency, East Java.<\/p>\n<p>In the agricultural sector, the corn production target for 2026 was\nset at 3.7 million tons, while corn production as of April 2026 reached\n984,959 tons or 26.62 percent of the target.<\/p>\n<p>The simultaneous harvest event took place on a local farmer\u2019s\ncornfield and involved elements from the regional government, TNI-Polri\n(Indonesian National Armed Forces - Indonesian National Police), farmer\ngroups, and the community.<\/p>\n<p>The Vice Governor of Central Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen, said that these\nachievements indicate that several food production indicators in Central\nJava show a positive trend as of early April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>This momentum is part of efforts to strengthen national food security\nwhile maintaining stable food production in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn principle, we from the Central Java Provincial Government\ncertainly support the steps taken by Polri to support food security in\nCentral Java,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>To support the achievement of these targets, the Central Java\nProvincial Government has allocated various strategic programs\nthroughout 2026, including assistance with seeds and production\nfacilities, rehabilitation of irrigation networks, construction of piped\nirrigation, and modernization of agriculture through the distribution of\nagricultural tools and machinery.<\/p>\n<p>Protection for farmers is also strengthened through a rice farming\ninsurance program covering 10,449 hectares, tobacco insurance covering\n10,000 hectares, and subsidized interest rates for hundreds of farmer\nfinancing packages.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief of Polri, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, said that the\nsimultaneous corn harvest for the second quarter was carried out on an\narea of 189,760 hectares with a potential yield of around 1.23 million\ntons.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, 100 tons of corn from the harvest will also be\nexported to Malaysia through the Jagoi Babang border in Bengkayang\nRegency, West Kalimantan.<\/p>\n<p>The corn is purchased by cooperatives from farmers at a price of IDR\n6,500 per kilogram and sold to Malaysia for IDR 7,000 per kilogram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThus, a profit margin of IDR 500 per kilogram is obtained,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Polri continues to encourage strengthening the\nagricultural ecosystem from upstream to downstream, including through\nsupport for access to People\u2019s Business Credit (KUR) for corn\nfarmers.<\/p>\n<p>To date, as many as 714 farmer groups fostered by Polri in 42 police\nprecincts across eight regional police forces have utilized these\nfinancing facilities with a total loan of IDR 30.3 billion.<\/p>",
