Central Java\u2019s Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maemoen (Gus Yasin)\nannounced that the free internet service is designed to make travel\neasier for mudik travellers by allowing them to stay connected with\ntheir families.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen people return to their hometowns, they might run out of mobile\ndata during their journey. This service can facilitate mudik travellers\nto maintain contact with their families,\u201d Gus Yasin said in a statement\non Thursday, 12 March 2026.<\/p>\n
He made the announcement whilst reviewing the implementation of the\n2026 Eid Exodus Community Service Programme at Sukoharjo Terminal in\nSukoharjo Regency on Thursday, 12 March.<\/p>\n
Gus Yasin reminded the public not to misuse the free internet\nfacilities. He instructed provincial officials to properly monitor\ninternet usage for mudik travellers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are actively combating online gambling and gaming abuse. I ask\nthe Civil Service Police to truly monitor the use of free internet at\nthese public facilities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Addressing mudik travellers, Gus Yasin affirmed that Central Java\u2019s\nprovincial government is committed to being a good host. He stressed\nthat Central Java was 100 per cent ready to welcome mudik\ntravellers.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs instructed by the Governor, we must be good hosts for mudik\ntravellers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, Gus Yasin also urged mudik travellers to pay\nattention to their health. Long-distance travel can cause physical\nexhaustion and reduced stamina, making health checks necessary.<\/p>\n
Gus Yasin also ensured there would be no shortage of basic\nnecessities in Central Java.<\/p>\n
Sukoharjo Regent Etik Suryani expressed appreciation for the 2026 Eid\nExodus Community Service Programme. She welcomed the availability of\nfree internet at various public locations.<\/p>\n
She explained that the programme began in 2025 and continues in 2026.\nIn addition to free internet in public areas, there is also free\ninternet in village sectors, education sectors, and internet supporting\nthe Empowered Subdistricts programme.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is very beneficial for the community,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, dozens of residents queued to receive free health checks\nheld at Sukoharjo Terminal. Among them were bus crew members undergoing\nurine and blood tests.<\/p>\n
PO Gunung Mulia bus driver Via expressed happiness with the free\nhealth checks conducted at Sukoharjo Terminal. According to him, the\nhealth checks would help him understand his health condition.<\/p>\n
During the activity, Via underwent blood sugar and blood pressure\nchecks. The results showed normal blood pressure. However, blood sugar\nlevels needed to be reduced.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, free internet service also greatly helped people who\nneeded to update information. As a ticketing officer, Fadith greatly\nbenefited from the free internet facility at Sukoharjo Terminal.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe connection speed is quite smooth. It\u2019s very helpful for my work\nas a ticketing officer,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
During the visit, Gus Yasin also distributed assistance to mudik\ntravellers, Trans Jateng passengers, and becak (pedicab) drivers at\nSukoharjo Terminal.
