Semarang (ANTARA) \u2013 Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has sworn in\nand inaugurated Mahanni Yulindha Pratiwi as Deputy Regent of Klaten for\nthe remainder of the 2025\u20132030 term.<\/p>\n
\u201cPay special attention to efforts to alleviate poverty,\u201d Luthfi said\nat the swearing-in and inauguration ceremony in Semarang on Monday.<\/p>\n
The new deputy regent was also asked to strengthen cooperation with\nKlaten Regent Hamenang Wajar Ismoyo.<\/p>\n
According to Luthfi, reducing poverty is one of the indicators of\nsuccessful regional development. He said the deputy regent was therefore\nexpected to play an active role in managing poverty-reduction\nprogrammes, coordinating with the regent and all regional agencies.<\/p>\n
Data for 2025 put Klaten Regency\u2019s poverty rate at 11 per cent,\nhigher than Central Java\u2019s 9.39 per cent. Klaten\u2019s economic growth was\n4.62 per cent, below the province\u2019s 5.37 per cent.<\/p>\n
These figures present a challenge for the regional leadership, which\nmust promote economic growth that directly improves residents\u2019\nwelfare.<\/p>\n
Luthfi also emphasised the importance of unity between the regent and\ndeputy regent in running the government. He said they should work\ntowards the same goals, support one another and prioritise collaboration\nto accelerate regional development.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey should work as one team to develop the region. I am sure the\ntwo of them will agree,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Klaten\u2019s strategic location, bordering the Special Region of\nYogyakarta, makes cohesive leadership and the effective use of\ndevelopment opportunities particularly important, Luthfi added.<\/p>\n
Mahanni was appointed to replace the previous deputy regent, Benny\nIndra Ardhianto, her husband, who died in office on 7 February 2026.<\/p>\n
Mahanni was elected in a vote at a plenary session of the Klaten\nRegency Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) on 26 August 2026, receiving\nall 49 councillors\u2019 votes.<\/p>\n
