Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has highlighted a range of\npositive achievements in the province\u2019s development, spanning food, the\neconomy, education and health, amid uncertain global conditions and\nfiscal pressures.<\/p>\n
\u201cActivities that directly touch the community are a priority,\u201d he\nsaid during the 81st Anniversary Ceremony of Central Java Province at\nAlun-alun Kidul, Boyolali Regency, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
In 2025, Central Java\u2019s rice production reached approximately 9.39\nmillion tonnes, while up to July 2026, milled dry grain production had\nreached 6.74 million tonnes.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf our farmers work hard, then those of us entrusted with leading\nCentral Java must also work hard down to the village level,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
The community\u2019s efforts, he added, have also helped drive the economy\nand create jobs.<\/p>\n
In fact, Central Java\u2019s open unemployment rate fell from 4.33 percent\nto 4.24 percent, with around 460,000 additional people in work.<\/p>\n
Investment growth has also continued, with investment reaching\nRp59.94 trillion in the first half of 2026, while Central Java\u2019s\neconomic growth currently stands at 5.80 percent and the poverty rate\nhas fallen to 9.21 percent.<\/p>\n
The Governor explained that these achievements have gone hand in hand\nwith programmes to meet the community\u2019s basic needs, such as free\neducation for 231,724 state school students and around 5,004 private\nschool students.<\/p>\n
The government has also provided scholarships for underprivileged\nstudents, including 10,000 students from poor families, while 282\nschools have been renovated and nine new schools built.<\/p>\n
In the health sector, the free health screening programme has reached\naround 21 million people, while in housing the government has completed\naround 339,963 units of the housing backlog.<\/p>\n
Central Java has also strengthened support for central government\nprogrammes, such as the free nutritious meals programme (MBG), which has\nreached around nine million beneficiaries through 4,382 SPPG units.<\/p>\n
A total of 14 Sekolah Rakyat have been realised with 1,275 students,\nwhile 8,523 Koperasi Desa Merah Putih have been established, including\n6,271 units that are already operational.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese various achievements are not solely the result of government\nwork. The awards and achievements earned by Central Java are also the\nfruit of contributions from all elements of society,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Central Java anniversary commemoration was attended by various\nelements of society, from schoolchildren, farmer representatives and\nMSME players to former governors and other community figures.<\/p>\n
Former Central Java Governor Bibit Waluyo reminded that the\nagricultural sector is one of the pillars that must continue to be\noptimised.<\/p>\n
The government must care about this sector because it is a strength,\nespecially since Central Java is a national food barn.<\/p>\n
