        "content": "<p>Semarang (ANTARA) - Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi held a\ndialogue with workers and labourers to absorb various aspirations ahead\nof the Labour Day or May Day commemoration in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the upcoming May Day commemoration, let us hold constructive\nactivities without diminishing the essence of May Day itself. That is by\nmaintaining conducive industrial relations,\u201d he said in Semarang on\nTuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Several issues and aspirations raised by the workers included layoffs\n(PHK), unclear severance payments not yet fulfilled by companies, and\nworker and labour welfare problems.<\/p>\n<p>In front of representatives from 78 worker unions and labour unions\nin Central Java, he invited the workers to celebrate with constructive\nactivities and maintain a conducive situation in each region.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that such constructive activities are very necessary to\nbuild good industrial relations between workers, companies, and the\ngovernment.<\/p>\n<p>Especially in responding to the current global conditions that will\nindirectly affect the Central Java region.<\/p>\n<p>He also explained that a conducive situation as well as guarantees of\nsecurity and public order in the region are one of the important\nrequirements for investment, and what makes Central Java attractive to\ninvestors.<\/p>\n<p>Other requirements, he said, are easy and quick permitting so that\nthe Central Java Provincial Government is committed to overseeing all\npermits for investments entering the region.<\/p>\n<p>He said that industrial zones and special economic zones in the\nregion will also be increased to make them more attractive for\ninvestment.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, he encouraged improvements in human resource quality\n(HR) and competitive worker wages through the optimisation of vocational\nschools, training centres (BLK), and polytechnics connected to\ncompanies.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, these steps are taken so that the existing HR can\nbe absorbed by incoming investments, thereby reducing the open\nunemployment rate (TPT) and improving community welfare.<\/p>\n<p>With guarantees of a conducive region, he said, the 2025 investment\nrealisation was Rp88.5 trillion, consisting of Rp50.86 trillion in\nforeign direct investment (PMA) and Rp37.64 trillion in domestic\ninvestment (PMDN).<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, investment realisation for micro, small, and medium\nenterprises (UMKM) was Rp21.52 trillion. The total investment in Central\nJava in 2025 was Rp110.02 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbout 340,000 of our workers were absorbed by industry, thus able to\nreduce the open unemployment rate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want workers and labourers not as production tools but to\nparticipate in developing the company.\u201d<\/p>",
