        "content": "<p>Through technological engineering, a 1,561 square metre pond has not\nonly succeeded in producing high-quality shrimp but has also become a\npilot model for modern pond revitalisation along the Pantura (North\nCoast) region. Head of the Central Java Marine and Fisheries Service,\nEndi Fa Efendi, stated that the harvest took place in Plot B3 of the\nLoka PBI Tugu. From a cultivation period of approximately 82 days, the\nvaname shrimp production target reached 1.3 tonnes, with a size of about\n60 shrimp per kilogram. Endi explained that the pond applies a closed\nsystem, as it is located in an industrial area, thus water usage is\nminimised. \u201cWe use very little water from outside, then we treat it with\ndolomite, chlorine, and aeration before using it for cultivation,\u201d he\nsaid in a written statement on Monday. Endi added that this harvest is\nmarketed to meet local needs at a price of around Rp60,000 per kilogram.\nFurthermore, Loka PBI Tugu continues to show positive performance with\nthe realisation of locally generated revenue (PAD) reaching\napproximately 72 percent of the annual target by the first semester of\n2026. On the occasion, Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi requested the\nMarine and Fisheries Service to boost fish and shrimp hatchery centres.\nAccording to him, hatcheries are more beneficial for the community\nbecause production costs are cheaper, business turnover is faster, and\nthey can support food security. Therefore, Luthfi added that\ngovernment-owned fisheries centres must become superior hatchery hubs\nthat can be utilised by farmers in various regions, ensuring the public\nno longer struggles to obtain quality seeds. He also requested all\nexperts and extension officers within the Marine and Fisheries Service\nto more actively assist the community, from seed provision and\ncultivation guidance to product marketing. \u201cSo the community won\u2019t have\nto look elsewhere. That way, our service is truly beneficial for the\npeople,\u201d he said. Luthfi stated that the fisheries sector is a crucial\npart of supporting the national food self-sufficiency programme. Central\nJava has a coastline stretching across 17 regencies\/cities, but most of\nits pond areas are still managed traditionally and need revitalisation.\nHe revealed that he has coordinated with the Minister of Marine Affairs\nand Fisheries regarding the revitalisation plan for ponds on the North\nCoast of Central Java, which covers approximately 72,000 hectares. \u201cIn\nthe near future, the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries will\nprovide full backing for our North Coast region. The principle is that\nit will be immediately overseen so that non-functioning ponds can be put\nback into operation as soon as possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
