        "content": "<p>The Central Jakarta city administration is ready to support the\n13-year compulsory education programme through a requirement for\nchildren aged 5-6 to attend one year of preschool education.<\/p>\n<p>Central Jakarta Assistant for Administration and People\u2019s Welfare\nNurhidayat said the effort is being realised through the issuance of\nCentral Jakarta Mayor Instruction Number E-0050 of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing up on this policy, a Mayor Instruction has been issued.\nThis year marks the initial implementation, with the target that all\neight sub-districts across Central Jakarta have a clear implementation\nroadmap,\u201d Nurhidayat said in a written statement in Jakarta on\nWednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Nurhidayat said the programme is a national mandate and a policy of\nJakarta Governor Pramono Anung to ensure preschool-aged children receive\neducation as an initial stage before entering primary school.<\/p>\n<p>He said socialisation will be carried out to align perceptions and\nstrengthen the commitment of all parties so that every child in Central\nJakarta receives quality preschool education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne year of compulsory preschool education is the foundation for\nbuilding superior human resources ready to welcome Golden Indonesia\n2045,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nurhidayat stressed that the programme\u2019s success cannot rely solely\non the government but requires the participation of the community and\nall stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the Central Jakarta city administration is inviting\nregional apparatus organisations, Bunda PAUD, village heads,\nsub-district heads, preschool teacher organisations, and community\nelements to become programme drivers in the field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet us together realise Central Jakarta as an area free from school\ndropouts and become an example in the implementation of 13-year\ncompulsory education,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that based on available data, some residents in the eight\nsub-districts of Central Jakarta have already enrolled their\nfour-year-old children in early childhood education (PAUD).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to attending PAUD, some parents also provide preschool\nactivities for their children through reading tutoring as preparation\nfor entering formal education.<\/p>",
