The Central Bangka Regency Government in the Bangka Belitung Islands\nis coordinating with the provincial government and chicken supplier\ncompanies to maintain supply availability in order to control the price\nof the commodity in the market.<\/p>\n
Central Bangka Regency Regional Secretary Ahmad Syarifullah Nizam in\nKoba on Tuesday said the measure was taken in response to the rising\nprice of broiler chicken, which has now reached Rp48,000 to Rp49,000 per\nkilogram.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope the Bangka Belitung Islands Province can respond wisely so\nthat the increase in chicken prices can be properly controlled,\u201d he said\nafter attending the 2026 Inflation Control Coordination Meeting.<\/p>\n
He said price control needs to be carried out by maintaining a\nbalance between supply and public demand, especially because demand for\nchicken is increasing.<\/p>\n
According to him, the need for chicken in Central Bangka has also\nincreased in line with the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals\nprogramme, which is currently being carried out through six Nutrition\nFulfilment Service Units.<\/p>\n
In addition, he said, weather conditions in the form of strong winds\nand high waves have caused fish catches to decline, so public demand for\nchicken as an alternative side dish has increased.<\/p>\n
Syarifullah said the regional government has mapped the sources of\nchicken supply in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, which come from\nfour large companies, namely PT Semesta Mitra Sejahtera, PT Ciomas Hadi\nSatwa, PT Panca Patriot Prima, and PT Satwa Utama.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to ensure that supply remains available so that public needs\ncan be met and prices can return to being under control,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said that based on information from supplier companies, chicken\nprices are expected to begin stabilising again in mid-September\n2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cInformation from our colleagues at the companies indicates that by\nmid-September 2026 chicken prices are expected to stabilise again and\ncould fall,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
