        "content": "<p>The Center of Economic and Law Studies (Celios) has assessed that the\nplan to include online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers as\nmicro-enterprise actors must not divert the government\u2019s focus from the\nfundamental issue of their social protection.<\/p>\n<p>Celios Digital Economy Director Nailul Huda said that regardless of\nthe status eventually granted to ojol drivers, the government needs to\nensure they receive adequate protection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether the status is UMKM (micro, small and medium enterprises) or\nworkers or whatever, what is clear is that they must be protected in\nterms of health, and how social protection is provided for the drivers,\u201d\nNailul told ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Nailul added that social protection is a non-negotiable aspect in the\nregulation of the digital transport sector, including through drivers\u2019\nparticipation in BPJS Kesehatan and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, if the aim is to enable drivers to access financing\nsuch as Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR), such facilities can actually be\naccessed based on the business activities they own.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he has a business, he is eligible to receive KUR. Why must ojol\nbe immediately classified as UMKM?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also assessed that government assistance should not be linked\nsolely to status as an UMKM actor.<\/p>",
