Police have displayed CCTV footage showing the faces and travel route\nof the perpetrators who threw caustic liquid at anti-corruption activist\nAndrie Yunus. Police suspect that the caustic liquid had splashed onto\nthe perpetrator\u2019s body.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis was monitored on Jalan Diponegoro where the perpetrator is\nseen, and it is suspected that the liquid hit part of his body, so both\nof them tried to clean it with mineral water, as seen in the CCTV\nvideo,\u201d said Dirreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Iman Imannudin at\nMapolda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
From the CCTV footage, the two perpetrators who threw the caustic\nliquid at Andrie were riding together on one motorbike. They pulled over\nafter carrying out the splashing and are suspected of cleaning the\ncaustic liquid splashes using mineral water.<\/p>\n
Iman said that the motorbike driver perpetrator also removed the\nbatik-patterned shirt he was wearing at the start. During the action,\nthe perpetrator was wearing a batik shirt.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, as you can see, the two people in front, the one wearing the\nred T-shirt, we suspect that his outer clothing has been removed,\nbecause at the crime scene he was seen wearing a shirt with a blue batik\nmotif,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Iman said that the suspected driver perpetrator was indeed wearing\ndouble clothing, namely a red T-shirt covered by a blue batik shirt on\nthe outside. After the splashing incident, Iman said the suspected\nperpetrator removed the batik shirt and was left only in the red\nT-shirt.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the one wearing the red T-shirt, and this T-shirt was also\ncaptured on CCTV during the daytime before the incident. It was moving\nand then also monitored at the junction heading towards Kramat Raya,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen, after the incident, with the perpetrator already wearing his\ninner T-shirt, because the outer T-shirt is suspected to have been hit\nby the liquid and was removed by the perpetrator,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
As is known, Andrie Yunus became the victim of a caustic liquid\nsplashing suspected to have been carried out by two perpetrators in\nCentral Jakarta on Thursday (12\/3) night. The incident occurred while\nAndrie was on his way home after attending a podcast event at the office\nof the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI).<\/p>\n
TNI Headquarters has also spoken out regarding the caustic liquid\nsplashing case against Andrie. TNI stated that four of its soldiers are\nsuspected as the perpetrators of the splashing, three of whom are first\nofficers, namely captain and first lieutenant.<\/p>\n
