Cattle truck crashes in Ngawi, kills seven<\/p>\n

Seven people died when a truck transporting cattle plunged into a
\nsix-meter-deep river in the regency of Ngawi, East Java, early on
\nSunday. Ten cows were also killed in the accident.<\/p>\n
Of the seven casualties, only three have been identified so
\nfar: truck driver Hari Bulin, mechanic Eng Adya Untara and M.
\nSofyan, a passenger.<\/p>\n
The three were residents respectively of Demangan,
\nTegalsiwalan and Sumberwetan villages in Probolinggo regency,
\nEast Java.<\/p>\n
Four others -- all cattle handlers -- have not been
\nidentified.<\/p>\n
Sec. Brig. Basiran, a policeman in the nearby village of
\nKedungdalar, said accidents were frequent along the road at that
\nparticular location because of its sharp turn.<\/p>\n
\"It seems the driver was not familiar with the road,\" he said
\non Sunday.<\/p>\n
The cattle truck was heading to Surakarta, Central Java, from
\nNgawi when the driver lost control at high speed and plunged into
\nthe river at around 2 a.m.<\/p>\n
The four cattle handlers were found among the dead cows,
\nraising speculation that they were killed when they were trapped
\nunder the weight of the animals.<\/p>\n
Basiran said the bodies were at the morgue at Ngawi General
\nHospital.<\/p>",
