        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex\nTechnology Co.\u00a0Limited (CATL) has secured the largest sodium-ion battery\norder through a strategic cooperation agreement with energy storage\nintegrator HyperStrong.<\/p>\n<p>According to a CarNewsChina press release on Monday, the two\ncompanies announced a three-year collaboration that includes a total\norder of 60 GWh of sodium-ion batteries, the largest such order in the\nworld to date.<\/p>\n<p>CATL stated that the collaboration with HyperStrong will encompass\nresearch and development of technology, product applications, and\nproject implementation.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, this partnership demonstrates that CATL has\novercome all challenges in the mass production supply chain for\nsodium-ion batteries and possesses large-scale delivery\ncapabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Sodium-ion batteries offer several advantages, including adaptability\nto a wide temperature range, superior high-temperature cycle durability,\nlower heat generation during operation, smaller cell expansion pressure,\nand better safety stability.<\/p>\n<p>In long-term energy storage applications, this technology can\nsimplify storage system architecture, reduce additional energy\nconsumption, and enhance overall operational efficiency and economic\naspects.<\/p>\n<p>According to CATL\u2019s annual report, in 2025, its power battery sales\nreached 541 GWh and its energy storage batteries reached 121 GWh.<\/p>\n<p>Securing a total sodium-ion battery order of 60 GWh is equivalent to\napproximately half of CATL\u2019s total 2025 energy storage battery\nshipments.<\/p>",
