Catchment area filled for housing<\/p>\n

As residents of Villa Cinere Mas, we are concerned about PT
\nIndokisar's misleading advertisement in Kompas (Nov. 8) on its
\nnew project, \"Cinere Mas\". The project is actually located at
\nPisangan, Ciputat, Tangerang in West Java and not in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Jl. Karang Tengah Raya, from the entrance of the housing
\ncomplex onward, has been in dire condition for years. The traffic
\njam caused by the new project is known to all.<\/p>\n
The \"Cinere Mas\" project is not connected with Villa Cinere
\nMas. Their land was a water catchment area measuring 12 hectares.
\nThe pristine green valley has been filled since July 1996. The
\nlandfill has brought about floods on both ends of the \"Cinere
\nMas\" project, due to the elimination of the catchment area's
\nfunction and the narrowing of a tributary of the Pesanggerahan
\nriver running through the valley.<\/p>\n
Villa Cinere Mas residents question the \"Cinere Mas\" project,
\nbecause they object to the use of the local roads in the complex
\nfor the transport of the project's material. The roads have
\nalways been maintained by the residents at personal cost.<\/p>\n
The developer has never spoken to the residents about the
\nconstruction of the project. The residents' objections have been
\nsubmitted to the related agencies.<\/p>\n
Prospective buyers should be careful before deciding to buy.<\/p>\n
