        "content": "<p>Case of bank workers handled<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The National Commission on Human Rights has<br>\nvowed to immediately help resolve a dispute between 52 employees<br>\nof PT Bank Umum Nasional and the bank's executives.<\/p>\n<p>The employees are complaining about the working contract<br>\nsystem and the minimum wage rate applied by the bank, which is<br>\npartly owned by timber tycoon Bob Hasan.<\/p>\n<p>Baharuddin Lopa, the secretary-general of the government-<br>\nappointed rights body, said the commission received a complaint<br>\nfrom the workers, mostly security officers, office boys and<br>\ndrivers, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The body will do its best to resolve the matter, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The workers say that the one-year working contract system puts<br>\nthem at a disadvantage because they can be fired any time the<br>\ncompany wishes to dismiss them.<\/p>\n<p>At least 17 of their colleagues have been fired thus far.<br>\n(bsr)<\/p>",
