Leo<\/p>\n<p>Travel warnings and drastic drops in the number of foreign<br>\ntourists visiting Indonesia are forcing the residents of Bobung<br>\nvillage in Patuk district, Yogyakarta, to work extra hard to<br>\npromote their handicrafts.<\/p>\n<p>Fewer and fewer tourists are visiting the village, where most<br>\nresidents make a living from the production and sale of wooden<br>\nhandicrafts. With good quality and reasonable prices, the village<br>\nhad been a favorite for tourists looking to buy wooden<br>\nhandicrafts like masks, puppets and statues.<\/p>\n<p>Although sales are sluggish, the villagers, most of whose<br>\nfamilies have been carving wooden handicrafts for generations,<br>\ncontinue to work hard at their craft. They can only hope that<br>\nthings will get better in the New Year.<\/p>",
