        "content": "<p>The Cartenz Peace Task Force has shot dead a commander of the Armed\nCriminal Group (KKB) from the Muara Kali HSSBI Battalion, Kodap XVI\nYahukimo, identified by the initials AP, also known as Y or AS.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Inspector General Faizal\nRamadhani, explained that the incident began when a joint team searched\na house used as a base and transit point for HSSBI Kodap XVI Yahukimo\nmembers in Dekai town. During the search, officers seized one round of\n5.56 mm ammunition, several sharp weapons, bows and arrows, mobile\nphones, and various equipment suspected to be linked to the armed\ngroup\u2019s activities. A 28-year-old man with the initials HS was also\narrested at the location. Initial examination revealed HS admitted to\nstoring ammunition allegedly originating from a group member with the\ninitials AK.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the joint team received information regarding AP\u2019s\nwhereabouts in the Pos Kilo 6 area, Dekai District. While conducting\nsurveillance, the target was spotted riding a motorcycle along Jalan\nLogpon. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, AP ignored their\ncommands, abandoned his motorcycle, and fled towards the forest.<\/p>\n<p>Faizal stated that officers then pursued the suspect and fired two\nwarning shots in accordance with standard procedures. However, as the\ntarget continued attempting to escape, officers took firm and measured\naction following police protocols. AP was pronounced dead during the\noperation and was subsequently evacuated to Dekai Regional General\nHospital for further procedures. Officers seized five rounds of 5.56 mm\nammunition as evidence from the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Based on his role, Faizal confirmed that AP was on the wanted list\nand had been involved in a series of armed violent incidents in Yahukimo\nRegency. He was recorded as being involved in the shooting of Alexander\nAngket and Naldy Magosa on 28 April 2026, in which Alexander sustained a\ngunshot wound to the right shoulder and Naldy suffered a gunshot wound\nto the left thigh. AP was also suspected of involvement in the shooting\nof Suhardin in the Blok A shop-house area, Dekai, on 30 April 2026,\nwhere a projectile struck the victim\u2019s motorcycle speedometer without\ncausing any fatalities.<\/p>",
