        "content": "<p>Cars may be banned in KL<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Malaysia may ban private vehicles from<br>\nentering the capital Kuala Lumpur because of pollution and has<br>\nactivated an anti-haze action plan in Kuching, the capital of<br>\neastern Sarawak state, reports said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Science, Technology and Environment Minister Law Hieng Ding<br>\nordered action to be taken immediately in Kuching because &quot;the<br>\ntown has been suffering from unhealthy air quality for more than<br>\n72 hours now&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Air quality in Sarawak has dwindled to unhealthy levels since<br>\nlast week with visibility as low as 300 meters, causing the state<br>\nto close its airports in Bintulu and Sibu, The Star daily<br>\nreported.<\/p>\n<p>The plan includes steps to control the number of cars entering<br>\nthe city, increasing car parking fees and lowering public<br>\ntransport charges.<\/p>",
