        "content": "<p>Cargill to invest in Subic<\/p>\n<p>SUBIC BAY, Philippines (AFP): United States grain processing<br>\ngiant Cargill will invest some US$35 million to expand a<br>\ndistribution center in this northern freeport, the operators of<br>\nthe freeport said Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Cargill will use one of Subic's deepwater piers to bring in<br>\nvessels carrying huge volumes of soymeal and protein for farmers<br>\nand livestock raisers in the region, the Subic Bay authority said<br>\nin a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Since January, 1998, Cargill has already been engaged in<br>\nprocessing, storing and distributing grain products in Subic, a<br>\nformer US naval base that the Philippines is converting to<br>\ncommercial use.<\/p>\n<p>However the new investment will more than double their<br>\ncapacity to bring in grain, the Subic Bay authority said.<\/p>",
