        "content": "<p>\u201cCarbon trading is not only for the elite, not only for those who\nhave long been well-off, but also for people at the grassroots level,\u201d\nhe said during the launch of the Carbon Unit Registry System (SRUK) here\non Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that around 8.3 million hectares of social forestry areas\nand 1.4 million hectares of customary forests have the potential to\nbenefit from the future development of carbon trading.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the ministry has issued approvals for three Forest\nUtilization Business Licenses (PBPH) and one social forestry scheme to\nparticipate in carbon trading.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have issued approvals for four entities to begin trading carbon,\nwhich are three concession-based PBPHs and one social forestry scheme,\u201d\nhe remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minister of Forestry Rohmat Marzuki said the approvals pave\nthe way for participation in the voluntary carbon market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe approvals to three sustainable forest management units under\nPBPH and one social forestry scheme open the door to the voluntary\ncarbon market.
