        "content": "<p>A black Toyota Calya drove against the flow of traffic in Gunung\nSahari, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, and was\neventually attacked by a mob.<\/p>\n<p>The reckless driving occurred amidst heavy traffic and caused panic\namong road users.<\/p>\n<p>A video uploaded to the Instagram account <span class=\"citation\" data-cites=\"lintasjakartaupdate\">@lintasjakartaupdate<\/span> showed the\ncar speeding while driving against the flow of traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta Central Police Chief, Commissioner Reynold Hutagalung, said\nthe car was driven by a 25-year-old man with the initials HM, from\nSidoarjo Regency, East Java.<\/p>\n<p>There was one female passenger in the car.<\/p>\n<p>Reynold explained that the police initially tried to stop the car at\naround 5:00 PM.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe car with license plate number D-1640-AHB was suspected of using\nfake license plates, so it was stopped by two traffic police officers,\u201d\nReynold told reporters at the Tanah Abang Police Station on Wednesday\nnight.<\/p>\n<p>At the Bungur intersection, the car turned left and continued driving\nagainst the flow of traffic heading west.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arriving at the Menara Bidakara Alfa Land (MBAL) intersection,\nthe car continued driving against the flow of traffic on Jalan Pos. The\nvehicle then turned around and returned to the MBAL intersection,\nturning left again in the opposite lane on Jalan Gunung Sahari.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt that point, the car was involved in an accident with a\nmotorcycle,\u201d Reynold said.<\/p>\n<p>Reynold explained that before the accident, the car was initially\ntraveling from north to south on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar.<\/p>\n<p>While near the Lapangan Banteng bus stop and being signaled to stop\nby officers, the driver continued driving south.<\/p>\n<p>The car then turned left onto Jalan Gunung Sahari IV and drove to\nJalan Bungur Besar Raya heading north to Jalan Gunung Sahari V.<\/p>",
