Capacity-building workshop at N. Dua<\/p>\n
The World Bank plans to hold a workshop on sustainable approaches
\nto local government capacity building at Hotel Inna Putri Bali,
\nNusa Dua, from June 19 through June 21.<\/p>\n
The workshop, aimed at providing knowledge for local
\ngovernments in the decentralization era, will present a number of
\nprominent speakers.<\/p>\n
Vice President of the World Bank Institute Dr Frannie Leautier
\nwill present a keynote speaker. He will be followed by several
\nothers including Prof. Dr. Bambang D. Soedjito from the Bandung
\nInstitute of Technology (ITB), Director General for Urban and
\nRural Development at the Ministry of Public Works Agoes
\nWidjarnako and Deputy Executive Director and World Bank LOGOFIND
\nProject director at the Philippines Department of Finance Lilanie
\nMagdamo.<\/p>\n
The three will discuss the challenge of decentralization and
\ngovernance reforms and various other contentious issues regarding
\nlocal governance capacity building.<\/p>\n
To share its discussions with other countries, the workshop is
\nalso inviting three mayors from the Philippines and American
\nacademic Professor Robert Cervero from the University of
