        "content": "<p>Canvassing the streets<\/p>\n<p>It&apos;s a daily activity for Jakarta residents to gripe and moan<br>\nabout the deficiencies of the city administration.<\/p>\n<p>Still, it should get credit where it&apos;s due for trying<br>\nsomething different, including inviting students from Yogyakarta<br>\nand the capital to paint murals on the fortress of concrete and<br>\nsteel that is Jakarta today.<\/p>\n<p>In place of the posters that now bedeck the flyover columns,<br>\nstudent artists chose themes that expressed their love of their<br>\ncountry and dismay at its progress.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the activity was limited to the areas of Cawang<br>\nin East Jakarta, and Tomang, and Slipi in West Jakarta, and only<br>\nheld during the monthlong JakArt festival.
