Candra, Tony, Lisa win Bola's Awards<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Men's doubles shuttlers Candra Wijaya and Tony
\nGunawan and women's weightlifter Lisa Rumbewas won the 2000 Best
\nAthlete Award conferred by Bola sports tabloid on Saturday to
\ncommemorate its 17th anniversary.<\/p>\n
The sports awards ceremony was broadcasted live by RCTI
\nprivate channel.<\/p>\n
Candra and Tony earned 1,213 votes leading other nominees such
\nas bodybuilder Ade Rai who won the 2000 Musclemania, soccer
\nplayer Gendut Doni who scored the most goals at the Anniversary
\nCup and Tiger Cup, Sydney Olympic's men's singles silver medalist
\nHendrawan and chess Grand Master Utut Adianto.<\/p>\n
Sydney silver medalist Lisa received 1,197 votes. Other
\nnominees were rock climber Etti Hendrawati who won the Summer X
\nGames in San Francisco and the Asian Pacific X Games in Thailand,
\nkarateka Meisya Karmajaya who won the gold medal at the Shotokan
\nJunior World Championship and taekwondoin Rahadani Neta who
\ngrabbed a title in the Korean Open taekwondo championships.<\/p>\n
Indonesia's Thomas Cup team received 992 votes to take the
\nBest Team Award, outdoing Indonesia's contract bridge team who
\ntook the 2000 world champion, the karate team which reached the
\nfourth place in the ITKF World Championship, and the junior chess
\nteam which grabbed the bronze medal at the Merdeka Cup in Kuala
\nLumpur.<\/p>\n
For the Best Coach Award, Herry Imam Pierngadi grabbed the
\ntitle with 702 votes. Other contenders were South Korean
\ntaekwondo head coach Oh Il-nam, weightlifter coach Lukman and
\njunior chess coach Danni Juswanto.<\/p>\n
Lisa also received the Most Favorite Female Athlete Award and
\nAde Rai got the award in the men's category. Neta won the
\nPromising Female Athlete Award and junior chess player Andrean
