Canadian killed in accident<\/p>\n
SERANG, West Java: A Canadian was killed and another badly
\ninjured in a car accident on the Serang-Cilegon highway on
\nWednesday, the Antara news agency reported.<\/p>\n
Yan McLyn, aged 42, was killed instantly, while his compatriot
\nidentified only as 41-year-old Ted by Antara, is in a coma and
\nhas been flown to Singapore for medical attention. Their
\nIndonesian driver, Lukman, was also killed in the accident.<\/p>\n
The Canadians were employees of PT Beckock, one of the
\ncontractors at the steam-powered Suralaya power plant.<\/p>\n
The three men were on their way to Jakarta from Merak when the
\naccident occurred at Pelamunan village.<\/p>\n
According to witnesses, a truck loaded with calcium rocks
\ncoming from the opposite direction suddenly braked and then
\noverturned onto their car.<\/p>\n
McLyn and Lukman were both seated in the front while Ted was
\nin the back.<\/p>\n
McLyn's body will be flown to Canada.<\/p>\n
Serang police chief Lt. Col. Ridhwan Karim said the truck
\ndriver fled the scene and is still at large. (emb)<\/p>",
