        "content": "<p>Can Mega be an exception?<\/p>\n<p>In a bid to reduce its campaign budget, the Indonesian<br>\nDemocratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) is proposing that its<br>\nchairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri be allowed to campaign while<br>\nconducting state duties.<\/p>\n<p>Insisting that the President should not take leave during the<br>\n20-day campaign period as it will adversely affect decision<br>\nmaking in state affairs, the party said Megawati could insert her<br>\ncampaign program into her working visits.<\/p>\n<p>\"There will be problems if the President takes leave,<br>\ntherefore she could take one or two hours out of her working<br>\nvisit for campaigning,\" PDI-P deputy secretary-general Pramono<br>\nAnung said after the party's weekly meeting on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the party would cover Megawati's expenses during the<br>\ntwo hours, but was uncertain whether the party would pay for the<br>\nPresident's travel expenses.<\/p>\n<p>The government has said the state will only provide security<br>\nfrom presidential details for Megawati and Vice President Hamzah<br>\nHaz during their campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>Pramono said the party was not trying to abuse the state<br>\nfacilities for the party's interests, saying it would offer to<br>\nshare the burden with the government. -- JP<\/p>",
