        "content": "<p>Economist and Executive Director of the Center of Economic and Law\nStudies (CELIOS), Bhima Yudhistira Adhinegara, highlighted the risks of\nan economic model based on unlimited natural resource extraction, while\nalso examining opportunities in bioeconomy, nature-based solutions,\ngreen investment, and ESG as part of a strategy to improve Indonesia\u2019s\neconomic competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>According to Bhima, \u201cIndonesia must take steps to improve its\nstructural economic model. One suitable economic model is one that can\npreserve nature and provide added value for local communities managing\nnature on the ground, rather than continuing with extractive development\nmodels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yayasan KEHATI believes Indonesia\u2019s future challenge is not only how\nto protect forests and species, but also how to make conservation an\nintegral part of the economic development strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The seminar \u201cThe New Economy of Nature\u201d is expected to serve as a\ndialogue space to identify business and investment opportunities based\non biodiversity, strengthen multi-stakeholder collaboration, and\nencourage the emergence of strategic recommendations for developing\nconservation-based business in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The forum is also part of the momentum to commemorate Indonesian\nForest Day and National Nature Conservation Day 2026. Invited\nparticipants include government ministries and agencies, corporations,\nbusiness associations, investors, academics, civil society\norganisations, international partners, and the media.<\/p>\n<p>Through this forum, Yayasan KEHATI aims to reinforce the message that\nconservation and economic growth do not have to be positioned as\nmutually exclusive choices. On the contrary, natural wealth managed\nsustainably can become a source of innovation, job creation, improved\ncommunity welfare, as well as Indonesia\u2019s competitive advantage in\nfacing global economic changes.<\/p>",
