During my last vacation, my family and I went to Yogyakarta
\nand visited the Prambanan Temple, one of the well-known tourist
\nattractions there. After paying an entrance fee, we entered the
\ntemple complex. Two security guards asked every visitor in a loud
\nvoice, \"Have you got a camera?\" Their next question was, \"Have
\nyou bought a camera ticket?\"<\/p>\n
It is quite natural for a tourist to take a camera along. And
\nmy father did buy a ticket for my pocket camera, but those who
\ndid not buy one for their cameras were requested to pay Rp 500
\neach without a receipt. Another security guard was seen wandering
\naround in the complex. While a group of visitors was taking a
\npicture, the guard interfered and asked whether or not they had
\nbought a camera ticket. When told that they had paid the guard at
\nthe entrance, he walked away.<\/p>\n
I wonder whether this is some kind of corruption, where people
\nillegally extract money from tourists.<\/p>\n
