        "content": "<p>Cambodian royalist creates own army<\/p>\n<p>PHNOM PENH (AFP): A Cambodian two-star general belonging to<br>\nPrince Norodom Ranariddh's royalist FUNCINPEC party has been<br>\narrested and charged with creating an illegal armed force,<br>\nofficials said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>General Sena Sak -- who fought with FUNCINPEC troops in 1997<br>\nfactional violence during which Prime Minister Hun Sen of the<br>\nCambodian People's Party ousted co-premier Prince Ranariddh --<br>\nwas arrested on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>If convicted Sak faces between three and 15 years in jail.<br>\nThe evidence against the general, who works in the ministry of<br>\ndefense's strategy research department, included the issue of an<br>\nunspecified number of false military ID cards.<\/p>\n<p>The issue of false ID cards giving ordinary civilians military<br>\nranks, enabling them to collect higher salaries and military<br>\nbenefits, is not new in Cambodia.<\/p>",
