Calvin Klein opens franchise<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): American designer Calvin Klein opened Saturday
\nthe first freestanding fashion store here at the Plaza
\nIndonesia's terrace on Jl. M.H. Thamrin.<\/p>\n
The Jakarta store's president director, Dian M. Soedarjo, said
\nthe fashion store, which occupies more than 450 square meters,
\nspecializes in clothing.<\/p>\n
Designer Klein, who claims to have had a dominant force in
\nfashion for more than 25 years, said that he created the world of
\nclothing, accessories and fragrance.<\/p>\n
\"Fashion in Indonesia is growing so fast that we are very
\nupbeat about opening the store,\" Dian said, adding that a similar
\noutlet was also opened in Hong Kong on the same day.<\/p>\n
She said her company was aware of the rampant forgery here of
\nforeign products.<\/p>\n
\"How can we tackle the forgery because even employees at
\ndepartment stores cannot tell the difference as to which ones are
\nforged?\" Dian asked, adding that so far, there is no available
\ndata on forgery.<\/p>\n
She said the opening of the franchise would assist customers
\nto locate original products. \"We guarantee the quality.\"<\/p>\n
The opening ceremony included a fashion show involving some 30
