Calm returns to Aceh<\/p>\n
BANDA ACEH, Aceh (JP): The disputed province was relatively
\ncalm over the weekend, giving a morale boost to the humanitarian
\npause between the government and Free Aceh Movement (GAM)
\nseparatist rebels that took effect on Friday.<\/p>\n
Minor incidents, however, occurred late on Saturday when a
\nteenager was shot in an apparent robbery attempt on his
\nmotorcycle on the downtown street of Jl. P. Nyak Makam.<\/p>\n
Local police chief Lt. Col. Sayed Husaini said that the boy,
\nidentified as Edi Syahputra, suffered a wound to his abdomen. He
\nmanaged, however, to regain his composure and sped on his
\nmotorbike to Zainul Abidin Hospital. His girlfriend was with him
\nduring the incident.<\/p>\n
Representatives of the Indonesian government and GAM said in
\ntheir joint statement marking the implementation of the
\nhumanitarian pause that both sides would move to restore peace
\nand order.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, at Malahayati Port, a total of 117 soldiers of the
\nBalau Infantry Battalion from Palembang, South Sumatra, aboard
\nthe KRI Teluk Tomini warship arrived on Saturday to replace
\ntroops who had been in service here for the past few months.<\/p>\n
\"The military personnel will be posted in Banda Aceh and
