        "content": "<p>Calm restored in Lembata<\/p>\n<p>KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: A number of police officers and<br>\nCatholic priests managed to calm down an angry mob who surrounded<br>\nLembata police station in Lewoleba, East Nusa Tenggara, on Sunday<br>\nmorning after a resident allegedly insulted the holy Eucharist, a<br>\nlocal official said.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy East Nusa Tenggara governor Frans Lebu Raya said the<br>\nsituation has returned to normal in Lembata after the<br>\nintervention of local church leaders and security officers.<\/p>\n<p>\"A number of police personnel and priests calmed down the<br>\nangry crowd, which later dispersed,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Frans said the crowd had demanded that the police hand over<br>\nthe man alleged to have insulted the Eucharist so that they could<br>\ntake action against him.<\/p>\n<p>The deputy governor said the crowd had moved on to a nearby<br>\nmarket and damaged the merchandise of some traders, but had not<br>\ncaused a fire.<\/p>\n<p>Police personnel were still standing by in the area on Monday.<br>\n--Antara<\/p>",
