How about a round of applause?\u201d\nsaid Cak Imin while opening the Ministerial-Level Meeting at Plaza BP\nJamsostek, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Monday (27\/04\/2026). \u201cThus, our\nextreme poor population now numbers 2.2 million people, down from the\nprevious 3.56 million people. This is something we should be grateful\nfor, even as we still have a remaining burden of 2.2 million from the\nprevious 3.56 million people,\u201d he stated. From the figures presented by\nMuhaimin, the poverty rate has decreased by 1.36 million people.\nMuhaimin acknowledged that there are still several challenges that need\nto be addressed immediately by the government, as thousands of families\nin the decile 1 group have not yet been reached by assistance. \u201cMore\nthan 774,000 families in the decile 1 group still have not been touched\nby programmes, especially in areas like Kulonprogo, Garut, Bogor,\nCirebon, and Cianjur,\u201d he said. He noted that there is now very limited\ntime left to achieve the target of eliminating extreme poverty to 0\npercent in 2026.
