Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment\nMuhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) has affirmed that BPJS Kesehatan and BPJS\nKetenagakerjaan must function as the state\u2019s principal instruments for\nprotecting the public\u2019s economic capacity.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that social protection is the key to preventing\ncitizens from falling into poverty when confronted with life\u2019s\nrisks.<\/p>\n
The remarks were delivered after Cak Imin inaugurated Prihati\nPujowaskito as President Director of BPJS Kesehatan and Saiful Hidayat\nas President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.<\/p>\n
\u201cBPJS Kesehatan must be present to ensure that the public does not\nlose its capacity due to health risks. Likewise, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan\nmust ensure that workers and their families do not fall into poverty\nbecause of occupational risks, redundancy, accidents, or death,\u201d Cak\nImin said in his directive.<\/p>\n
Cak Imin urged the social security administrators to continuously\nimprove their quality of service. He stated that the primary purpose of\nBPJS is to provide peace of mind, not to generate anxiety through poor\nservice delivery.<\/p>\n
\u201cBPJS exists so that people can live without worry. It must never be\nthe case that the public feels apprehensive about substandard services,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Cak Imin noted that robust social protection would\ncreate space for the public to \u201cmove up a class\u201d in economic terms.<\/p>\n
On the same occasion, he also affirmed that healthcare access for\ncitizens is a constitutional right that is non-negotiable.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe task of BPJS Kesehatan is to ensure that every citizen has\naccess to that constitutional right.
