        "content": "<p>Cable venture set up<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): An Australian company, Pacific Dunlop, announced<br>\nyesterday that it has established a A$30-million (US$22.27-<br>\nmillion) joint venture with a number of Indonesian partners to<br>\nmanufacture communication cables at the Balaraja industrial<br>\ncenter in West Java.<\/p>\n<p>Pacific Dunlop said in a statement made available here that<br>\nthe venture, named PT Olex Indonesia Ltd., will be 60 percent<br>\ncontrolled by Pacific Dunlop and the remaining 40 percent by<br>\nIndonesian businessmen who are engaged in the cable industry.<\/p>\n<p>It said that Olex Indonesia, which operates a sales office<br>\nhere, will soon construct a new plant at the Balaraja center,<br>\nsome 35 kilometers west of Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>\"We expect the new plant will commence production of metallic<br>\ntelecommunication cables by 1995,\" the statement quoted Philip<br>\nBrass, Pacific Dunlop's managing director, as saying.<\/p>\n<p>The planned plant is also designed to manufacture optical<br>\nfiber cables and medium-voltage power cables.
