        "content": "<p>Cabinet ministers to visit Malukus<\/p>\n<p>AMBON, Maluku (JP): A 13-strong entourage of Cabinet ministers<br>\nled by Coordinating Minister for Social, Political and Security<br>\nAffairs Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will visit the Malukus on<br>\nTuesday, Maluku Governor Saleh Latuconsina said on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Latuconsina said the visit was aimed at speeding up the<br>\nprocess of rehabilitating and restoring law and order in the<br>\nviolence-racked provinces of Maluku and North Maluku.<\/p>\n<p>The minister will then fly to the neighboring province of<br>\nIrian Jaya, which is experiencing mounting demands for<br>\nindependence.<\/p>\n<p>During their trip to Maluku's capital Ambon, the ministers<br>\nwill take a close look at the latest on situation on the ground,<br>\naccording to Latuconsina.<\/p>\n<p>Also to come are Indonesian Military chief Adm. Widodo A.S.,<br>\nNational Police chief Gen. Surojo Bimantoro and Attorney General<br>\nMarzuki Darusman.<\/p>\n<p>\"The visit is expected to result in ways to restore law and<br>\norder as well as to tackle the problems of refugees and riot<br>\nvictims,\" the governor said.<\/p>\n<p>Thousands have been killed and many more forced to flee since<br>\nthe violence erupted in January 1999.<\/p>\n<p>Among the ministers joining the entourage are Minister of<br>\nJustice and Human Rights Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Minister of<br>\nDefense Mahfud M.D., Minister of Education Yahya Muhaimin,<br>\nMinister of Home Affairs and Regional Autonomy Surjadi Soedirdja,<br>\nand Minister of Foreign Affairs Alwi Shihab.<\/p>\n<p>\"We will discuss plans for \"floating trials\" in which speedy<br>\ncourt sessions will be held on board of a navy ship or civilian<br>\nboat guarded by the security forces,\" Latuconsina said.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, Pattimura Military Commander Brig. Gen. I Made<br>\nYasa revealed on Saturday that some 1,300 detonators concealed in<br>\na heap of watermelons were seized at Yos Sudarso port when they<br>\nwere about to be unloaded from the KM Lambelu recently.<\/p>\n<p>Also speaking on Saturday, Maluku Police chief Brig. Gen.<br>\nFirman Gani said 12 rioters linked to Laskar Jihad (Jihad Force)<br>\nAhlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah will face formal questioning in 12-days<br>\ntime on charges of possessing lethal weapons and ammunition.<br>\n(49\/edt)<\/p>",
