Java eyes more investors<\/p>\n<p>SEMARANG (JP): Central Java sees an increase in investment<br>\nflow in the province following the government's recent decision<br>\nto fully delegate the licensing authority to the provincial<br>\nadministration.<\/p>\n<p>Soedarsono, the head of the local office of the investment<br>\ncoordinating board, said here on Friday that the new policy would<br>\nspeed up the process of investment licensing.<\/p>\n<p>The new licensing procedures would help investors because they<br>\nno longer needed to go to the Investment Coordinating Board<br>\n(BKPM) in Jakarta to obtain investment permits.<\/p>\n<p>Business opportunities are promising because the province has<br>\na relatively more stable and secure environment compared to its<br>\nneighbors in East and West Java provinces, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Fifty-one out of 67 investors here are foreign investors from<br>\nJapan, Korea, England, China, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and<br>\nthe United States who help create a favorable business<br>\ndevelopment during the crisis, especially in local prime sectors<br>\nlike textile, furniture, tourism and agribusiness.
