Jakarta (ANTARA) - BYD Motor Indonesia\u2019s team is still investigating\nthe electric car that caught fire near the Cikampek toll gate in\nKarawang Regency, West Java Province, on 31 July 2026.<\/p>\n
Head of Marketing, PR, and Government Relations at PT BYD Motor\nIndonesia, Luther Panjaitan, told a press conference in Tangerang,\nBanten, on Monday that the burnt electric car had been moved to the\ncompany\u2019s investigation site.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo this day, the vehicle is still undergoing a comprehensive and\ncomplete investigation by the aftersales team, not only from Indonesia\nbut also from expert teams,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said the company could not yet provide information on the cause of\nthe fire because the investigation is still ongoing. The results will be\nannounced once the inquiry is completed.<\/p>\n
Luther said the company\u2019s team had explained the details of the\nvehicle investigation process to the customer.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have also helped mediate communication with the relevant\nauthorities on site, so it did not take long \u2014 still on that same\nmorning \u2014 we were able to take the vehicle directly to our investigation\nsite,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe customer has calmed down and understands that this is still in\nprocess,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Luther said that incidents like the fire involving the BYD electric\ncar in Cikampek are extremely rare.<\/p>\n
