        "content": "<p>Busway, let's wait and see<\/p>\n<p>From reading the letter titled On the busway in The Jakarta<br>\nPost on Jan. 20 by Gandhi Sukardi, and its closing comment that<br>\n\"traffic jams still occur -- although they are not as serious as<br>\nbefore the advent of the busway\", it is obvious that the author<br>\nis not living in the world of reality.<\/p>\n<p>Since the busway began, rush-hour traffic jams have been<br>\npositively apocalyptic. Some of the worst ever. How can anyone<br>\nmake any logical conclusions regarding the busway since it<br>\nstarted just a few days ago, the fares are still free and the<br>\nfeeder bus system isn't yet operational?<\/p>\n<p>Even against the odds, I sincerely hope that the busway<br>\nultimately succeeds in reducing Jakarta's traffic problems, but<br>\nit is too early to conclude anything, let alone start waving any<br>\nbanners of victory for its instigators.<\/p>\n<p>JOSEPH MANGGA<br>\nJakarta<\/p>",
