        "content": "<p>Business resumes in Nabire<\/p>\n<p>JAYAPURA, Irian Jaya: Economic activity in Nabire regency<br>\nshowed signs of recovery on Saturday after almost a week of total<br>\nstandstill due to rioting, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Nabire Police chief Lt. Col. Faizal A.N. said in a telephone<br>\ninterview that order had been restored and markets, government<br>\noffices and private companies had resumed activities.<\/p>\n<p>He said roadblocks erected by the Papuan Security Force were<br>\nremoved on Friday afternoon by the security personnel and local<br>\nresidents.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The roadblocks were cleared following a meeting between<br>\nRegent A.P. Youw, local officials, community figures and<br>\nreligious and tribal leaders,&quot; Faizal said.<\/p>\n<p>He confirmed that three people were killed and at least 13<br>\nothers injured in the rioting. Witnesses, however, put the death<br>\ntoll at four.<\/p>\n<p>Armed with arrows, machetes and spears, some 2,000 people<br>\nattacked the local police headquarters on Wednesday in<br>\nretaliation of the death of a fellow Irianese in Monday&apos;s clash.<br>\n(01\/eba)<\/p>",
