The Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No.
\n591\/MPP\/Kep\/10\/1999 of October 13, 1999 lays down, among other
\nthings, the procedures and requirements for an application for a
\nbusiness permit by owners of corporate entities. While the owners
\nof such corporations are interested in obtaining business
\npermits, many are still in the dark about how to go about it.
\nGenerally, they do not really understand the necessity of
\npossessing this permit or the correct procedures for filing in an
\napplication for the license.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, some other government agencies also have their
\nown regulations about which bodies\/entities should or should not
\nbe required to possess business permits. A case in point is the
\nSouth Jakarta Telkom office. It stipulates that a foundation must
\npossess a business permit while, in fact, the Ministry of
\nIndustry and Trade has clearly stipulated that a foundation
\ncannot obtain a business permit.<\/p>\n
To prevent the public from being prejudiced, the government
\nand the ministry must make clear which institutions are
\nauthorized to determine the entities that are required to possess
\nbusiness permits.<\/p>\n
