Bus driver arrested for raping maid<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A minibus driver was apprehended by an angry mob
\nyesterday after he allegedly raped a maid in the Jatimakmur
\nvillage in Pondok Gede, Bekasi, 30 kilometers west of here.<\/p>\n
Head of the Bekasi police precinct Lt. Col. Elfrizo Tobing
\nconfirmed the report, saying that the suspect is Marihotma
\nSimamora, a 25-year-old driver of a Koasi minibus.<\/p>\n
He allegedly raped Santi, 18, on the second floor of a house
\nbelonging to their employer at about 2:30 p.m. Both the alleged
\nrapist and the victim work for the same person. No other people
\nwere in the house at the time.<\/p>\n
Their employer, Simanjuntak, who hired Simamora to drive one
\nof his Koasi minibuses, owns a business in town, said Tobing.<\/p>\n
Based on the police preliminary investigation, Simamora went
\nto the two-story house and found that Santi was alone on the
\nupper floor.<\/p>\n
\"He then went upstairs and raped the maid,\" Tobing said.<\/p>\n
When Simamora tried to leave the house, Santi screamed for
\nhelp.<\/p>\n
In a few seconds, passersby surrounded the house and detained
\nSimamora, who was about to leave by the front door, said Tobing.<\/p>\n
\"There was only one punch landed on his face,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Simamora was then taken to the nearby Pondok Gede police
\nsubprecinct for further investigation.<\/p>\n
\"Santi is still in shock and under medical treatment at a
\nnearby hospital,\" Tobing said.<\/p>\n
Tobing said that his officers are questioning a number of
\nwitnesses and collecting evidence at the scene of the crime for
\nfurther examination.<\/p>\n
The suspect has denied the allegation of rape, saying that
\nSanti consented to having sex with him, said Tobing.<\/p>\n
\"He can say whatever he wants, but let's prove it in court
