        "content": "<p>Bus accident kills one<\/p>\n<p>BOGOR: A Merdeka bus plying the Ciamis-Lebak Bulus route drove<br>\noff a 10-meter slope at Sampay village, Cisarua subdistrict in<br>\nBogor on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>A man, 34-year-old Supardi, was killed instantly while 39<br>\npassengers suffered injuries. Six victims were taken to PMI Bogor<br>\nhospital, 18 to Cisarua hospital and 15 to Ciawi hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said the cause of the accident, which occurred at<br>\n12:45 p.m., was brake failure.<\/p>\n<p>The bus driver's assistant, Atun, said the bus had left Ciamis<br>\nat 6 a.m. and that the driver, Samiun, usually checked the brakes<br>\nbefore leaving.<\/p>\n<p>\"When the accident happened I didn't know that a car was<br>\npassing the bus. I just realized that we had fallen down the<br>\nslope and were in an upside-down position,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Bogor Police chief of the traffic division, Adj.
