Burglars wound two school security guards<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Two security guards were injured when 10 men
\nforced their way into the Don Bosco private school complex on Jl.
\nTB Simatupang, South Jakarta yesterday.<\/p>\n
The security guards' coordinator, Rais Sugianto, said one of
\nthe victims had been hurt in a similar incident at the school in
\nJanuary.<\/p>\n
The victim, Urbanus, aged 41, was slashed on both feet and is
\nnow being treated at the Prikasih private hospital in Pondok
\nLabu, South Jakarta, Rais said.<\/p>\n
\"Urbanus was also injured during the previous attack in which
\nabout six men, after forcing their way into the school complex,
\nwere involved in a fight with Urbanus. They slashed his left foot
\nthen,\" Rais said.<\/p>\n
Rais said no school property was stolen yesterday apart from
\ntwo walkie talkies.<\/p>\n
\"But the attackers took away Urbanus wallet, containing
\ndocuments and Rp 180,000 (US$72) in cash and another Rp 186,000
\nowned by Saijan, a guard from PT Metropolitan Kencana,\" Rais
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Another guard, Silvester, said that about ten men, armed with
\nat least one handgun and sharp weapons, entered the school site
\nthrough a small gate at around 2 a.m. yesterday.<\/p>\n
Silvester said one of the attackers fired a single shot as he
\nordered the six security guards to remain still.<\/p>\n
But the guards -- Urbanus, Mustopo, Ace Santoso, Kanisius,
\nKasan, and Saijan -- ran away for help, said Silvester who, along
\nwith Rais, was not on duty when the incident occurred.<\/p>\n
The attackers caught Urbanus because he slipped when he tried
\nto jump over the fence, Silvester said.<\/p>\n
The Metropolitan Kencana guard, Saijan, who was visiting the
\nschool at the time, was also wounded, he said.<\/p>\n
City Police Spokesman Lt. Col. E. Aritonang confirmed the
\nattack and said that the police were still investigating.<\/p>\n
Last week a group of 12 people attacked security guards at the
\nRicci school complex in Pondok Aren, Tangerang, West Java, before
\nbreaking into the house of Herman Notosuprapto, the head of the
\nfoundation which runs the school, in the complex.<\/p>\n
The attackers escaped with Rp 500,000 and some valuables.<\/p>\n
In a separate case, a teenager who worked as a security guard
\nat a factory in the Jababeka Industrial Estate in Lemahabang,
\nBekasi, West Java, was found dead Sunday morning at the factory
\nsite.<\/p>\n
Aritonang said that no indication of physical violence had
\nbeen found on the body.<\/p>\n
The body of 17-year-old Priyono has been taken to the Cipto
\nMangunkusumo General Hospital for a post mortem, Aritonang said.<\/p>\n
He said the police were still questioning people in connection
