Bandung Bupati Dadang Supriatna (Kang DS) invited 100 orphan children\nto shop for Eid clothing at Jogja Soreang shopping centre in Bandung\nRegency on Sunday, 1 March 2026.<\/p>\n
During the event, each child received a 500,000 rupiah shopping\nvoucher to purchase clothing and food of their choice.<\/p>\n
Kang DS stated that the activity demonstrated the district\u2019s\ncommitment to ensuring orphan children could experience the happiness of\ncelebrating Eid al-Fitr like other children. \u201cI want to see their\nhappiness and have them experience shopping at a shopping centre to buy\ntheir needs just like other children,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The atmosphere was filled with emotion and joy as the children freely\nselected trousers, shoes, t-shirts, Muslim clothing, headscarves,\nsandals, and their favourite foods without restrictions.<\/p>\n
Several of them appeared confused when making selections, as they had\nnever experienced shopping at a mall before. Previously, when receiving\nEid clothing, they could only accept donations without being able to\nchoose the style, size, or colour according to their preferences.<\/p>\n
Ahmad, one of the orphan children, expressed his happiness at being\nable to purchase Eid clothes according to his taste. \u201cThank you, Bupati.\nThis memory will never be forgotten. You are the first adult who brought\nme shopping for clothes at a shopping centre according to my wishes,\nstyle, and design,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
During the event, Kang DS was accompanied by officials from Bandung\nRegency\u2019s Baznas organisation, who helped the children select clothing\nthat suited their preferred sizes, colours, and patterns.<\/p>\n
Kang DS said he experienced special joy seeing the enthusiastic and\ncheerful expressions of the children whilst shopping for their Eid\nneeds. He emphasised that this activity was not merely an annual agenda\nbut rather a demonstration of the district\u2019s commitment to ensuring\norphan children could experience Eid celebration happiness like other\nchildren accompanied by their parents.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to see their happiness. They must also experience the\nshopping atmosphere at a shopping centre to buy their needs just like\nother children. Shopping with these special children has been something\nwe have done for two years. God willing, we will continue to increase\nthe number in the future,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
