        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Dony Oskaria, Head of the Ministry of State-Owned\nEnterprises (BUMN) and COO of Danantara, has said that PT Industri\nKereta Api (Persero), or INKA, needs to carry out a comprehensive\ntransformation to strengthen the company\u2019s foundations and build\nhealthier, more competitive and sustainable performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to carry out a turnaround. And a turnaround can only be done\nif we share the same commitment to making this company better, with\nproper governance,\u201d Dony said in an official statement confirmed by\nANTARA in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Dony assessed that INKA\u2019s current condition requires serious\nturnaround steps.<\/p>\n<p>This is reflected in the company\u2019s negative equity position,\nunsustainable loans of Rp4.7 trillion, and corporate losses reaching\nRp670 billion.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dony, improving INKA requires a shared commitment from\nthe entire company hierarchy, prioritising strong and proper\ngovernance.<\/p>\n<p>The transformation of INKA will be carried out comprehensively by\nfixing various fundamental aspects of the company, from the business\nmodel, governance, work culture, production quality, operations,\nengineering and finance, to business processes.<\/p>\n<p>All of these aspects need to be set out in an integrated\ntransformation grand plan that will serve as a reference in running the\ncompany\u2019s improvement process.<\/p>\n<p>Strengthening INKA also carries strategic significance for the\ndevelopment of the national railway industry.<\/p>\n<p>As the national railway manufacturer, INKA is considered to play an\nimportant role in driving industrialisation while creating jobs.<\/p>\n<p>The transformation is expected to go beyond improving the company\u2019s\nperformance, and to build INKA into a stronger, more efficient\nmanufacturing company with competitiveness in the global railway\nindustry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I want, as the President said earlier, is for our railway\nindustry to truly advance,\u201d Dony said.<\/p>\n<p>With a healthier financial foundation, strong governance, and\ncomprehensive improvements across every business pillar, INKA is\nexpected to rise as a competitive company and become a driving force for\nstrengthening the national railway industry.<\/p>",
