        "content": "<p>Bulogate<\/p>\n<p>Principally, corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN), however<br>\ninsignificant it may look, must be eradicated fairly and justly.<br>\nBut it should not shift the focus away from more important<br>\nnational tasks, i.e., to investigate KKN allegedly involving<br>\nformer president Soeharto, which is explicitly stipulated in the<br>\nBroad Outlines of the State Policy.<\/p>\n<p>News concerning the scandal in the State Logistics Agency<br>\n(Bulog), also known as Bulogate, which involves a number of high<br>\nofficials, has been widely reported in the media, although the<br>\namount involved is relatively very small (Rp 35 billion), when<br>\nseen from the national scope of interest.<\/p>\n<p>There is a much bigger scandal involving one and a quarter<br>\ntrillion rupiah by Edy Tansil, which happened well before the<br>\nmonetary crisis hit the nation. When converted into the present<br>\nmoney value, it would amount to more or less Rp 4 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>Bulogate is believed to have involved many high-ranking<br>\nofficials. And the intensity of the scandal is so high that the<br>\nlegislators are planning to summon the President for questioning.<br>\nWhile the Edy Tansil case, which is much greater in nature, has<br>\nreceived very little attention from law enforcers.<\/p>\n<p>This will not fail to attract the attention of the people who<br>\nfeel that justice is not being upheld.
