Perum Bulog’s West Java Regional Office is expanding the distribution
of 3,000 tonnes of premium rice supply from its Rice Milling Centre
(SPP) to various modern retail networks at an affordable price in
accordance with the Highest Retail Price (HET) of Rp14,900 per kilogram.
The supermarket market penetration is being carried out to provide easy
access for the people of West Java to obtain high-quality rice while
maintaining food price stability amidst market dynamics. Perum Bulog
West Java Regional Leader Nurman Susilo in Bandung on Thursday
emphasised that in addition to strengthening the distribution of
medium-quality rice under the Food Supply and Price Stabilisation
Programme (SPHP), the penetration of premium rice into modern retail is
being massively accelerated. “Bulog not only provides medium-quality
SPHP rice, but also premium rice which is already available in various
modern retail networks so that it is more easily accessible to the
public,” said Nurman Susilo in his statement. The public can now obtain
these food commodities through various modern retail networks in West
Java, such as Griya, Yogya, Borma, Transmart, Indomarco, Indogrosir and
Superindo. The products being rolled out include the Punokawan Rice and
Befood Rice brands in 5-kilogram packages priced at Rp74,500 per
package, or Rp14,900 per kilogram in accordance with government HET
provisions. Nurman explained that the availability of a 3,000-tonne
reserve equivalent of premium rice in Bulog West Java’s warehouses is
more than sufficient to meet the consumption needs of households and
business operators without any need for scarcity concerns. Therefore, he
urged the public to remain calm and buy rice according to their daily
needs without panic buying. “The public does not need to make excessive
purchases. Bulog ensures that the distribution of SPHP rice and premium
rice will continue to be strengthened so that the needs of households,
business operators, and modern retail in West Java remain fulfilled and
food stability is maintained,” said Nurman.
",
